Triumph TR6 Restoration

—— Check Recent Posts for updates ——

This is a progress report of my current project to restore a 1974 Triumph TR6.  Here is a picture of the car as-delivered in 2008.  This car (CF 13095U), was a victim of hurricane Ivan (2004) and as a result, was up to her skirt in water and had the garage fall in on her.  The car had been regularly driven, maintained and garaged by her previous owner (Florida) for the 21 years prior to the storm.  This restoration will be a complete Frame-Off project.  It will not be a 100 point concourse restoration however it will be as good as new when it is complete.

Don’t Worry, I’m a pretty handy guy.

2016 Update

This is a very fun car to drive.  I enjoyed every moment of the restoration and driving.  The car is now with a new owner and I have moved onto new projects.  Thanks for visiting

Here are some shots of the finished product.

I told you I was handy 🙂

I am not a professional but I think it came out pretty good.  I am proud to say that I did everything myself (outside of re-coring the radiator)

You will notice that I did not put the rubber over-riders back on, I think they look ugly, nor have I finished restoring the top.  I also have the original seats in the basement! Those may never get restored as the low back buckets look pretty cool.
